Same. But I’ve gotten ~16 interviews so far so not complaining yet. Sad to miss out on UVA but got Cleveland Clinic and waiting on other bigger programs to come out still. ?

I have 260+ and have only 5 invites so far. So....

So I’ve heard from some residents that they got interview offers as late as December, and some even matching at those programs. Does this mean that the interviews being sent out now aren’t exactly the final decision? How common is it for programs to send out more interviews later in the season?

Also you hear from people not to worry about it in September because October is the big month, but it seems like a ton of interviews are going out. Can we expect round 2s from some of these places?

Yes.  I imagined lots of people will cancel their interviews if they get better offers.

It’s a neurosurgery forum. Everyone here has a 270 with AOA and 15 pubs and spent six years taking out brain tumors in African children.

I think it’s easy to panic about not receiving interviews this early, especially when we have something like this forum where virtually someone will receive an interview and post about it for every program.

Try to breathe and take it for what it is. It’s a long process with lots of movement and rescheduling. Multiple rounds of interviews. Definitely hard to remember that on here, but each of you applying to Neurosurgery are doing so because your solid med school track record has allowed you to do so. Have faith in the process, you’ll end up where you belong!
