This is a great article, and I agree with the True-preference strategy 100%.
I wil say though there are some mind games that go on in the process where you hear some programs will only rank you high if you rank them #1 whcih doesn’t make sense if you understand how the algorithm works.
In the end, its hearsay and who knows what actually happens behind the scenes. My advice is just follow what doctorK says in his article.
Ha! great article but first I need to get a single interview lol
Just think about all the stress relief you get if you only have 1 interview. No worrying about this ranking nonsense!

There's also a link to an excel spreadsheet that I made for myself, which was incredibly useful last year. Feel free to download and share
Good luck everyone, and enjoy the interview trail

Agree 100%.
However it is unfortunate that so many programs in NSGY try to play the game and “game the match” which in turn drives applicants to do he same. As a result we have people falling through cracks. Ornament should start with our leadership (program directors and chairs).

Example, not Ornament.
Agreed. But it can be tough to teach old dogs new tricks. In PD years the switch to the NRMP (or possibly even from the days you could just call up the good ol' boys) was like, yesterday.
