Here are some GI-related links that you can peruse at your leisure. There's a reason it's by far the most competitive fellowship out of IM with like a 65% match rate. If you really think you could get a spot and actually like the work then go for it.

65% is pretty sweet considering that IM match rate itself was what 53% for FMGs? (and I am pretty confident with those odds)
