When a chair search is being conducted it is very secretive and the search committee is not of faculty from the department. So NO ONE knows who is going to be the next chair who is being interviewed for chair, not even the faculty from that department. stop trolling cause you don't actually know

Home student here at Stanford. Mike Lim is a favorite. Hes our alum and presented at grand rounds recently and faculty evaluated him in a meeting after grand rounds. Open discussions were done in the presence of residents about him.

No one is saying that they know from the perspective of the search committee. But people close to specific faculty members may have an idea of their interests or intent. He's also one of the most qualified candidates for a potential chairmanship and is from the area.
