Penn
#21
Rotated a few cycles ago, matched elsewhere. A lot good and some not-so-good. Excellent resident group, PD second to none, top-tier research, CHOP affiliation = great peds, early chief experience at Presby and Pennsy, Ivy League name (for better or worse this matters in academia and to the patient public, anyone who says otherwise is lying). New chairman always introduces some uncertainty. Vascular in philly dominated by Jeff. Tumor mostly to Penn. Functional seems split. Philly is an amazing city. I think autonomy could be better, apparently new chairman has that as a priority.

Agree with this. Didn't get a rank to match call or any contact from faculty, but one of the 5th years called and we had a nice conversation mostly to check to see if there were any additional questions he could answer to help with determining rank list.
