During the first few months of med school, how many of your classmates would you say were interested in NS. when did this number begin to shrink and how little did it get. Cheers

Maybe 10-15 showed up at the first few interest group meetings. They provided dinner so it's hard to say how many were actually interested. After Step 1 a bunch of people suddenly lost interest, and a few gained interest. Maybe 5 total at that point. 3-4 took a research year, then 3-4 people were coming off of a research year and applied my year. There were 5 of us who went on interviews, one pulled the ripcord into another specialty for lifestyle reasons just before it was too late. 4 of us ended up matching my year.
