who is the chair at Wayne? is it worth applying to? Has a couple of rising stars such as Moisi and Al Holou but no real stable chair.

Meh, DMC/Wayne. Faculty was nice but the chair was completely uninterested, and kind of a dick. Had a failed spine fellowship match in recent history. Take it for what you will, but I was told by chair at Henry Ford that DMC would lose backing of the Wayne State (transferring academic seat of power to Henry Ford Hospital) and that the DMC program would dissolve in about 3 years time, with the residents being absorbed by HF. Take that for what you will. Something to do with DMC being a private organization and being mismanaged - which has led to mismanagement of the neurosurgery department itself as a byproduct.

Would y’all consider BWH to be a top program? Seems research heavy but the surgical volume is no where near UCSF/Barrow/USC level, plus an already shortened clinical experience with 2 years spent on research..
