Im a mid year resident in good standing, have excellent rapport with faculty, can physically do the work, but am becoming disenchanted with neurosurgery. I think about resigning regularly. The only reason I continue is I’m addicted to the rush, keeping my mind busy keeps it away from existentialism and nihilism, and I have student loans. I’m a ghost.
