If you’re asking because you want to do an away, consult your home dept/mentors based on your personality and career goals.

If you’re asking because you want a listicle of the NE’s trendiest neurosurgery programs, just apply to all of them, go on interviews if you get them, and see which fit you best. There are infinite factors to consider. They’ll tell you about their culture, research, volume, and alumni.

If you were to, say, rank MGH over Columbia or Pitt over NYU because of an anonymous post on the internet, you’d be making a mistake.

There’s no best program for anything. Just a spectrum of strengths and weaknesses that are unique to every applicant/resident
