So what programs are you afraid of matching at? Other than not matching at all, of course. Any places you would prefer not to match at all rather than wind up there?

As the above poster said: it’s always better to match than not match. I can’t think of a single program where I’d rather SOAP than go there. MGH, Mayo, UCSF…I’d vomit but I’d accept the cards dealt to me instead of risk never being a neurosurgeon.

A neurosurgeon from an obscure less known program still commands more respect, prestige, and salary than any other specialist, even if they graduated from Harvard. Don’t be a moron, matching at any program is better than not matching and scrambling into a different lesser specialty
