You have a shot at matching, albeit slim. It’s been done in the past but obviously an uphill battle.
If you’re okay matching into your backup specialty, then by all means dual apply. If not, I would apply to every single nsgy program and prepare for not matching/soaping into prelim year. Will need to heavily rely on your home program to make phone calls on your behalf.. hopefully they’re well connected. You’ll likely get small number of interviews (<5, at least 10 if lucky). Choose your aways wisely. Top programs commonly host applicants they would never match, so keep that in mind but their letters may carry more weight if you impress. Good luck

Which top programs host applicants they would never match?
Which top programs host applicants they are actually considering?

Can a low step one score be overcome? Not that low, no. That’s barely passing. No matter what else you have in your application, rest assured there will be other applicants with that same “extra” details, but that scored much higher. I’m not trying to be cruel, but you should apply to a different specialty. Or at least dual apply. You’ll be glad u did come match day, trust me.

Another option is applying for match in 23/24 cycle. Almost everyone will apply with a P/F step 1 score.

His/her score will always be visible on the printout. It will say pass, but score will be visible, and it will kill his/her application.

Step 2 score will be a screening tool.
