What makes someone a bad surgeon?

It is deeply unfortunate that women continue to face discrimination despite these facts. Considering these outcomes, we should be actively promoting a 50:50 M:F ratio in surgery--as other fields are doing. And having >50% women surgeons would be even better in terms of patient outcomes.

Yeah. Obvious to anyone that women take on the less complex
cases (ie carpal tunnels) and those studies capture that practice pattern.  I like this line “retrospective analysis showed no difference in outcomes by surgeon sex in patients who had emergency surgery, where patients do not usually choose their surgeon.”
