What to do as MS1 other than research and pre-clinical?
#1
So I’m fortunate to go to a true pass fail school for both pre-clinical and rotations. I’ve been using that time to get ahead on step 1 studying and research. I tried shadowing a few times with neurosurgeons at my school’s hospital and while it was interesting, I wasn’t sure if it was the best use of my time. What are ways I can better prepare myself for neurosurgery sub-I and gain relevant clinical skill or knowledge as an M1 other than research and shadowing? Thanks!

Study, research, build a network, go to conferences, do the Dura anki deck, spend time with loved ones while you can

^ good advice. Preparedness never hurts. The networking & just enjoying your time parts are particularly salient.
