R25 grants are a good way to get into NIH funding while in residency. Although programs with R25 are typically more academic, many of the most academic porgrams (UCSF, Michigan, etc) do not have R25s
Baylor vs. UT Houston

I meant neurosurgery only R25s

I think it was followed by Methodist with like 20% then St. Luke (Baylor).

Baylor and UTH presented conflicting case volume data at respective interviews (wrt who is number 1). In either case, both have solid operative volume and the difference is not enough to be a deciding factor.

Baylor historically dominated but bad decisions by medical school leadership devastated most training programs. Still the neurosurgery training at Baylor is probably still a better choice than the other two in town. Luckily the bad decision makers at Baylor are either long since fired or dead (feigin).

How does UT Southwestern stack up against the Houston programs (specifically Baylor and UTH)? |
