Best route to academic NSG
#1
Hi all,

I am currently an MS2 at a mid-tier MD program with an okay NSG residency program. I am interested in pursuing a career in academic medicine and would ultimately like to have a shot at a program at a respected academic program like Barrow,UCLA,Pitt, UCSF, etc.  I have one first author publication on a case-report in a good neuroscience journal, and I have two other clinical pubs in the works from this past summer. My grades put me in the top quartile of the class, but I should be top 10% and AOA eligible by MS3.  Besides striving for AOA and a 250+, what other advise could you give me?

Barrow and Pitt aren't particularly academic. If you want to show research credibility, get published more. Take a year off if you need to.
