Volunteer abroad?
#1
Has anyone done this?  I found http://www.fiens.org/ but it is not very well organized on how to facilitate going abroad.  Do I just email the contact for the region I which I am interested?  Are there other organizations doing neurosurgery abroad?

Duke-UNC Friedman Fellowship

I know from past courses that Duke PD has established program in Africa while UNC Skull Base goes to vietnam; Teo goes to SE Asia as well. Otherwise you could always enquire with MSF and Peace Corps - usually these are for Primary Care but perhaps they could find you a slot somewhere.

Do most countries accept the United States residency training as sufficient to practice in their country?  Or is there specific extra training to do in each country.  For example, if someone comes from Europe and wants to practice in US, then they will have to complete a residency.  I dont know if this is the same for practicing neurosrugeon in another country.  Lets say I want to go to Dubai 3 months, Japan the next, South Africa the next, etc.  Is this not possible?

The BNI has launched Barrow Global a major effort in Global Neurosurgery- https://www.barrowneuro.org/for-physicia...ow-global/
The first site is in Tanzania at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Multiple opportunities to get involved in global research as well as in country work.
