Harjus Birk finally filed a lawsuit against UCSD. At least it's publicly available now. It's crazy if the allegations are true

Know Khalessi personally, Birk had numerous serious clinical issues that weren't mentioned in the lawsuit that led to his termination. Just another sour resident lashing out

Per the link above, he was never put on probation or remediation. This is illegal

it sounds like he could not get along with other residents. "clinical issues" his PGY 2. It seems like a clear case of retaliation because of harrasment complaints about the treatment he recived from other residents. Sometimes you just need to have tougher skin, keep your mouth shut, and respect the hierarchy.

Why should one have to "respect the hierarchy" when they are being actively discriminated against? Everyone deserves to have an equitable and safe working environment

Who knows the truth of the matter. It is hard to say who is in the right or the wrong. Programs generally do not fire residents if it can be avoided. Although, it does appear that the process was less than transparent for this resident, although this resident's story is probably cherry-picking information to make it seem like the program is entirely to blame.
