Exactly my thoughts too. Stop asking about stats, people! The admissions process for residency, in much the same way as medical school, is a big black box. Our apps go in the box, stuff happens outside of our knowledge or control, decisions are made, results come out of the box, and the stats are published afterwards. We are ultimately left to draw inadequate conclusions from insufficient data. Don't harp on the stats. You'll gain little from it.
Your apps are in. It's out of your control. Just sit back, take a big deep breath, and know that it will be ok. Life is very long; our careers are only a fraction of our lives, and we're doing NSG because we are driven enough, talented enough, intelligent enough to do it. We will become neurosurgeons, even if it takes us another year or two, God forbid. Just keep your sights on the long-term goals, treat your fellow colleagues and collaborators with respect in this forum, and help each other out. We're all in this together!
