Interview Invites 2017 - 2018
Here's the whole thing:

Thank you for applying to the neurosurgery residency program at the University of Utah. This year we have had exceptionally strong interest with an outstanding group of very talented individuals. A committee of several of our faculty members has carefully reviewed all the records and we have attempted, as fairly as possible, to evaluate the applications.

From the larger group we have selected a subgroup of applicants we feel have the best potential and whom we would like to invite out to Salt Lake City for an interview. We feel however that it would be unfair to invite individuals whom, from our past experience, are not likely to be competitive based on the strength of their applications.

Unfortunately I have to inform you that based on these criteria; we are not able to offer you an interview.

We wish you the best of luck in your search for a neurosurgical training program and in your future career.

Sincerely,

Randy L. Jensen, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor and Program Director
Department of Neurosurgery

I’m glad Utah rejected me. That email demonstrates a culture that I do not want to be a part of. I’m sitting on 13 interviews anyway with some from better programs than Utah, so I think I’ll be fine.

I’m in a similar boat, but CLEARLY our applications are not competitive.... /eyeroll

This doesn't pertain to you guys with 10+ interviews, but I thank Dr. Jensen for confirming my assessment of my application cycle. I am unworthy and non competitive. He basically said the same thing I tell myself everyday.

Meanwhile more invites come out today and yet again I get none. FM

Shut up. People have spent plenty of time consoling and encouraging you. At this point you're a broken record and just want people to feel sorry for you. Nah, brah.
