Mayo Rochester (main) is has great autonomy and surgical experience. I would definitely avoid the satellite programs especially Florida. Do not get fooled by the case volume and numbers.

As a med student who rotated in all sites, I can say Mayo Rochester training is unparalleled. Their faculty and residents are superb. Mayo FL and AZ are not even close. Mayo FL lost residents a couple of years back and Mayo AZ was on probation when I applied.

As a graduate of LSU Shreveport, I can say that the autonomy there was unparalleled, specially after Nanda was gone. Chiefs independently clip aneurysms and resect complex skull base tumors with no attending involvement. The city was the shit part. Small, not much to do. Was it worth it for a good training ? Certainly.

LSU Shreveport residents having nothing to do but spamming here. You guys have no clue what autonomy is. Just trying to sell your program like a used car salesman. This program was started by Nanda 20 years ago and ended with his firing. Enjoy the filthy Shreveport and get a life
