Great volume, solid faculty. I would think that is a solid program, what am I missing?

What is wrong with Wisconsin?

Nothing wrong with Wisconsin. They probably just didn’t interview the person that made the post. Same for UTSW and UVA.

Malignancy. Too much work. Research has shown that people do best when they are well-rested and relaxed. Too much work leads to patients dying or being injured. Mayo, BNI and MGH are so great becasue residents are well-rested and relaxed. Lives are being destroyed as we speak.

There’s a chasm between a dangerous amount of work and relaxed/not being challenged, and you want neither.

Talk to other rotators about how the residents skill are in a program. Some programs will sell you on blown up case numbers when their residents have never done a case skin to skin. They will sell you on relaxed hours but do you really want to be a neurosurgeon that cant operate and has minimal experience over seven-eight years?

So what are the bottom 10? Seems clear Loma Linda and Rutgers are on the bottom as the only 2 programs on probation.
