You've essentially lost the interview spot if no other spot opens up even at an unpreferred date.

So does this mean that programs send invites to more people than they actually have slots for? Why don't they just pick which applicants they'd most like to interview and give them 24 hours to respond before sending out more invites for whatever slots they have left?

So happy for my high Step score. Daddy say I get A++ for my high step score. Program director really like the high Step score, it mean I very smart. I get good interviews, going to match top program. Going to make all relatives very happy. High step, all that matter in life. Get high step score.
