Do programs that participate in VSAS use a step 1 cut off? I took an year off for research. Low step 1 (210+), 260+ step 2, passed CS. US allopathic student. Will appreciate any input. i am fairly new to this thread.

Some schools specifically request Step 1 scores with your VSAS app, so I have to imagine those particular places use it. Your school reports only your pass/fail status through VSAS, so if an institution doesn't ask for it as a supplemental document (which you can find out in VSAS), they won't have it. I have to imagine you'd be screened out of some of those places, but I know people with less impressive Step 2 and similar step 1 scores that were still able to rotate at Top 20 institutions. Way to battle back, by the way! best of luck to you.

Just wanted to drop in and wish you luck. Congrats on the Step 2 score and I hope you are successful.
