Looking at the interview swap sheet, now that all interviews have been sent, if you are still holding multiple interviews in hopes of trying to swap into an open spot. It would be helpful to email those programs and notify them you are unable to attend. I have heard applicants on the trail mention they still have "like 10 interviews they haven't rejected yet". I understand that this is a competitive process, but holding interviews of places you aren't interviewing at, only make your chances of matching at programs you are interviewing at worse.

I’ve asked programs to waitlist me for the date I want and I am 2/2 with interviews I’ve done that for. Trying to swap can be inefficient.

Has anyone ever matched to a program after getting a third round interview there?

Apparently, an applicant had canceled a program 1 week prior to the interview. Not sure if the program just missed the cancellation email or they didn't think 1 week was enough time to invite another applicant. Regardless, that applicant got a direct call from the PD on interview day asking where they were and why they weren't at the interview. All it takes is a phone call or a text for this type of mistake to develop into a reputation.

Word on the street is that Sinai, NYU and Columbia are all taken up by home students this year. Their students want to stay. Is it even worth interviewing at these places then?
