Some of the people at bcm are great, especially some of the mid or junior residents. There are some attendings that are proud of the old baylor culture though that will keep the program malignant and unfriendly.

Any program that loses a resident due to overworking them, then interviews candidates for an open spot and states over and over again that you need to work a lot and not complain is concerning

Paradoxically, some programs will never lose lazy residents because of political influence

Some residents turn out to be duds and needs to be fired. No everyone can hack it. Pruning is healthy. It shouldn’t always be seen as ‘malignancy’ as id every one if you Twitter warriors deserves a spot indefinitely.

"Heard about a big shot PD a while ago who slept with a PGY6's wife but they sat and took it without retaliating because they wanted a rec letter for fellowship. If you really want something that much you'll bear anything to achieve it"

Do you mean WashU?

Lol no way that’s true, any resident with any brain would’ve gotten so much more out of that misstep

Not if the big shot PD is more valuable than any PR flak the hospital would get for it coming out and them not getting fired

Lol “big shot PD”… y’all out here acting like people are untouchable. Neurosurgery is a single department in an entire medical system. If anyone steps out of line to an egregious extent they have to answer to the suits who are rarely doctors and could give two shits about a “big shot PD”. No one is untouchable this day and age
