UCLA vs. USC vs. Cedars
#1
Trying to move back to Los Angeles and had a few questions:
  • How do these 3 Los Angeles programs compare?
  • Which program has the best subi experience?
  • Which program is better when it comes to operative training?
  • How do the enfolded fellowships compare at the 3?
  • Which program makes residents most competitive for post-residency fellowships?

USC: top clinical, mid research
UCLA: mid-clinical, top research
Cedar: mediocre clinical, bottom research

UCLA's research is alright. Nothing special. (From someone with ties there).

USC hasn't been "top clinical" in over a decade. Certainly used to be though.

Not sure what you're talking about. USC is great in terms of operative volume and autonomy. Definitely one of the best in those areas.

Doesn't really matter how much operative volume and autonomy they have. Just matters how their graduates compare after they are done (not favorably).

What do you mean? Where have there graduates gone that makes usc worse clinically?

Most graduates go into PP. If you want to be a PP no-name, its the place for you.

What if I want to write grants while my wife’s boyfriend has his way with her?
