I know a couple of people who've done rotations at this program and have friends in other specialties at this hospital who do off-service rotations there and they all say that this is an extremely toxic program. All the residents look depressed and hate it there. Their pgy4 quit, their intern last year quit and their intern this year just quit. They make their residents go to off-site rotations and don't provide adequate funding.... I hear the chairman is a tyrant and all the faculty treat the residents like shit and don't teach, which isn't surprising that three of their residents have left. They also take a bunch of call and make the residents lie on their duty hours and acgme surveys... they also cover two hospitals 45 minutes away from each other.... which doesn't sound safe for the residents or the patients. Sounds like the education is also crap, with the program having to hold back their pgy7 last year.... good luck to whoever matches there next year
