Applying to aways?
#1
If I'm applying for an away at a program which usually has a lot of rotators (Baylor, Pitt etc....), should I apply for other aways that month as a back up? If so, how many? Average applicant.

Yea its about middle of the bell curve, but largely for sub-is people usually get it you apply early enough. Poor form to turn down a sub-i that was given to you, so probably don't want to over apply.

So many trolls on all the neurosurgery boards, one of the reasons why none/very few are actually helpful. 248 with 7 pubs is not below average.

Can any residents comment?

Yes, please, any residents comment. I too don't want to overapply. How do you navigate this? I'd rather be on a Sub-I than not, but I'd hate to tell a place I'm interested in that I can't Sub-I there, thanks for the offer.

You probably will not be rejected from any program for a sub-I. Only apply to as many sub-I's that you want to do. If you do get rejected than apply to another.
