Has anyone else noticed a dramatic increase in 2017 in JNS review time? Before this year it was rare for a paper to take longer than a month and a half to receive a decision, and now it seems to consistently take 2-3 minimum.

Still 100x faster than the red journal but yes.
Yeah, I don't even bother submitting to either the red or white journal anymore. Neither of them have their act together.
erm, what are the red and the white journals?

white is journal of neurosurgery. Its cover is white
red is neurosurgery. its cover is red
which are the good neurosurgery journals, where a student (first author) can look to publish into with fast turnaround?
red journal only publishes cranial stuff. nothing spine.
Reviving an old thread:
Anyone know of updates? Still 2-3 months for JNS (spine)? 1.5 months? Waiting on a paper and getting antsy... applying next cycle.
