Next year's chief resident attends a lot of meetings and he can tell you what he told me about the program. The program is solid and has a bright future.

I agree now that rank lists are submitted I can tell you that UCSD is a top tier program and the residents are outstanding next years Chiefs are technically very gifted.  I would be very happy to match there.
nice try alex

Probably a dumb question but how do medical students speak with such authority about if a resident is technically or operatively gifted?

Former subintern here but not the original poster.  I've seen Reid bail out an attending who got stuck in a pickle.  Next year's chief residents are both fellowship trained and very gifted, I agree.

They're not because they're not med students. UCSD needs to stop with having their residents and attendings post a bunch of filler to try and pump up their program. Just stooooop. If you're pissed everyone's shitting on your program, this doesn't help. Why not be smart and just let this blow over? There'll be another program with drama next year and your time on the bottom will be over

Fellowship in what?

UCSD has 2 years of elective time

One chief was Teo's fellow in australia (endoscopic skull base).

The other chief did 2 years enfolded endovascular

Not to be a dick, but neither of those confer any operative ability.
