I have been watching match results for years since I matched. I can tell you that it's unfair game. When I was an applicant I used to hear that match process is fair and all that "fit" bullshit. Now I am in the selection process and know how things work. Let me tell you something: it's the worst unfair game. Examples that stand out in this match:
Bottom line: your main goal is to become a neurosurgeon. Everyone has preferences where they want to match, but don't forget the main goal.
I hope the moderator removes the post. You identify, and then negatively comment on, specific individuals who have not yet started their career in Neurosurgery. This post is of no service to future readers, and a disservice to those whom you have named.
Curious as to where you are getting information about step 1 scores and people's person life to make these accusations. If you're sharing this information based on your involvement in the selection process at your program, that seems like a major violation of confidentiality to post people's Step 1 scores and personal life information.
I would be willing to bet this jerk is a bitter applicant that didn't match or matched at a program low on their list and is just be pretending to be a resident. I hope his/her computer is tracked or something like that because this is ridiculous. At some point on the interview trail, I met 3 of the 4 people being hated on here, and I can say without a doubt that they are great people and will be excellent neurosurgeons. You seriously have to be such a prick to anonymously post these kinds of comments about other applicants on the internet.
So brave of you to identify and attack specific applicants who deserve to be commended for matching fantastic programs, while posting under the veil of anonymity yourself. I also know several of the applicants disparaged here and they are fantastic people. Whether or not the original poster is actually a resident/faculty member, or just a jealous and bitter applicant, this kind of drivel embodies the worst of these forums.
What did it say? In theory, we are grown ups and should be able to discuss something inflammatory? If there were ad hominem attacks, should those people be afforded a chance to defend themselves?
