Work hard. Tremendous autonomy. Abdulrauf is...a character, but he treats his residents well. New hospital will be done soon so get to operate in brand new digs. Research isn’t great but you’ll come out a good surgeon.

Solid program? They have terrible resident retention, Abdulrauf is ousted as chair, the program is on probation, there is 0 spine experience. Shall I go on?

Program is better without Abdulrauf. It has the makings of a great small program. Could use some more spine. Needed to get out from underneath Abdulrauf to make reasonable changes into a better program. Good faculty. Now great chief of the division. Will never be WashU but that’s not what that program is all about. |
