Nope. People tend to choose specialties with a better lifestyle

IR only wins because so many DR apply just because they can. Ortho, ENT, Plastics, and Derm are both more selective from a raw stats POV. Neurosurgery is more about showing your interest and that you can hack it. Someone with a 270 is great, and you know they'll have no trouble passing the boards, but if they're going to quit two months into PGY-2 you've gone and screwed yourself.
