Interview Invites 2019-2020

The physical threats and open bullying aren't too common anymore, if you catch wind of that then you have a truly malignant program. But violating work hours and unspoken pressure not to report it is par for the course in I'd say  around 90% of programs.

Once you start you realize working >80 hours/week is almost impossible to avoid. When you talk to all of your friends from the trail they all are going through the same thing, and if you try to make a change and report it this ^ is what can happen. Your PD might not respond correctly, then you lose accreditation, and then you're out of a job. The system moves on and you've changed nothing but your employment status.

Same boat: average applicant and applied everywhere. Asked multiple people to review my app and no one could find a good reason. Weird thing is that I got two interviews at top 10 programs and the rest are from bottom to mid tier (not that I care...just saying it is unlikely that I could get invites from good programs if there is actually something wrong with my app) so in conclusion, it is very random... cross your finger i guess

good point! No, I didn't. And I have no connections to where they are located nor do I know anyone in either state those programs are in. In fact, one of them is in a state I've never even been to before. It is really completely out of nowhere.

Of people that I've talked to on the trail so far, i've heard as low as 2 invites and as many as 45+, so it really varies. The majority of people that I've spoken to are somewhere around 15-20 invites. I know of at least 5 good applicants with < 10 invites - you're not alone. Crush what you've got my man/lady.

Actually, I'm pretty sure its 279 US MD AND DO Plus 144 FMG = 424 according to this report

It looks like there are more US applicants because the DOs are applying with the MDs.

DOs shouldn't count.

Anyone know why KUMC is all over me to know specifically what flight in and out I am taking and which hotel I am staying at? They don't offer any hotel or transport, so I think it's kind of weird that they care..
