What results? Brown is 80% spine tied to an undergrad school.

Tons more volume. Expanded faculty. Expanded research program. Planning to expand cohort since their volume is so high. It takes time to turn a program around and it seems like he's doing a good job, but if he left now it'd be a couple years before most of this work comes to fruition

Just to be clear for all the medical students reading these threads worrying about big names leaving. People like Ames are always interviewing for chair positions. At my program we have at least 2 attendings who are fairly big names in their specialties frequently interviewing for open Chair positions. Sometimes they have zero interest in the position and maybe even zero interest in leaving at all, but they will at least hear out the organization, and it gives them bargaining power with their home institution.
