because starting up and running an organization is a quick way to FEEL like you're a player in organized neurosurgery.

realistically, only aans, cns, and sns matter. abns doesn't count because every field has a board. all others are either (a) a subsidiary or (b) not relevant. sorry not sorry.

and i know, this is very north america centric. but if organizations outside that region mattered, OP would have mentioned them. they would also have their own higher impact journals and people from those countries would not be trying to come to the us and canada to train.
