We are former and current residents, former and current medical students, faculty and staff from Louisville who are doing a public service by bringing attention to the the horrible working conditions, the terrible incompetent leadership, and patient safety concerns at this program.

Anyone who advocated for patient safety got fired. Anyone who pointed out to overworked residents half-asleep doing surgery and paralyzing/killing patients was bullied and terminated. Many times, residents were so overworked they were doing the wrong surgery on the wrong patient and were only alerted by staff midway.

The obvious outcome is that the vascular attending was deservedly fired, other good attending physicians horrified by the conditions left and good residents left for greener pastures. The cockroaches stayed behind and hid behind non-disclosures. The “Leadership’s” contracts should not be renewed.
