superior vermian vein vs. precentral/vein of cerebellomesencephalic fissure
#1
Hello!

Anyone have any general pearls in distinguishing the superior vermian vein from the precentral/vein of the cerebellomesencephalic fissure?

I keep confusing the two in images.

Cartoon below implies superior vermian runs more dorsally over the vermis, but then the labeled rhoton/Cohen image subsequently labels the vessel as precentral

Sorry, not letting me upload images from my computer.

Great question, i had to look this up too. The precentral vein is unpaired and is also known as the cerebellomesencephalic vein bc it runs in this sulcus. Thus it is the more anterior vein. the superior vermian vein runs along the superior aspect of the vermis. They both drain into the great vein of galen
