UW

Absolutely loved my UW interview, but there wasn't a ton of talk about the call schedule/lifestyle which sounds like the only draw back from this program.

Would anyone be able to give some input about what the typical days/weeks of the junior residents looks like?

Thanks

Also enjoyed this interview. Ditto the residents didn’t really get specific on their day to day and honestly isn’t give me opportunity to ask them questions at all really, spent most of the time asking me questions.

Apparently there is a lot of APP support but the residents attitude seemed to be that you still get killed and that they’re pretty hard on each other.

The youtube video talks about the different hospitals they work at. But doesn't really talk about the call schedule in junior/senior years. Also interested in the ? from the OP, almost seemed like they were trying to hide the call schedule/lifestyle which seems to be the only drawback from a great program. Any sub-Is have any info?

nothing to hide.. everyone knows this is a high volume program where you get slammed on call. Just like any other program with high volume/county hospital (USC, Miami, etc) this eases up as you begin taking senior call.

Coming in at 4am and leaving at 10pm isn't as bad as it sounds if you're doing meaningful work. If you're drowning in trauma (UW, USC, Miami, etc) it gets really old really fast.
