Dear NeurosurgeryHub Community,

I would like to call on attention to user JoeyJJ. If you are not all familiar, this user has been spamming this forum (both anonymously and through his account) for the past month asking about summer research. I was one of the individuals to offer him a project (before I knew he was crazy) and gave him my email to discuss projects. This user has sent me at least 12 emails in the past week and another 6 emails 2 weeks ago. 

Please be vigilant regarding this user for your own safety. Do not give him your personal details. He is of questionable character and if you do decide to take him on, please conduct a thorough background check.

No, after he emailed me, I tried searching his name on google and got no results (his name is pretty unique). I am concerned he is not who he says he is.

I think so but he emailed me through a Gmail account rather than an edu address.
