I go to a school without a home program. According to the SNS guidelines, one sub-i should be at the most closely affiliated ACGME accredited program. If our school doesn't have any affiliated program, how do I know which institution to apply to for a sub-i?
Do they just mean the physically closest neurosurgery program to your school?
I just read the guideline. They really didn't define what is considered a adopted program. It seems like it is up to you to essentially associate yourself with an adopted program. It seems like that should be accomplished by establishing a long term relationship through shadowing, research, and creating a mentor relationship with faculty.
If you don't have a home program, who writes the home program letter of evaluation? Does the adopted program write it?
Was looking at the SNS guidelines and it doesn't specify.
