CNS conference as med student

lots of extra events, many that cost $$$. which would be worth attending as a med student? best way to make connections at these?

None. Don't spend any unnecessary money because you will be ignored. Instead look into the Marshalls program (or whatever it's called currently). You basically work as a cattle herder and in exchange get to go to the event for free.

Find other students to chill with and if you are lucky and have a mentor that actually cares he or she will invite you to dinner or something.
