Does anyone know of programs that place less emphasis on an applicants research portfolio when applying? I understand that having at least some research is critical but I am wondering if there are programs where some research is enough to check the box. thanks!
Muh Alabama, Muh autonomy.
UofL, USF, Carolinas, Mayo AZ, LSU, SLU
Would say look at the CVs of current residents. If the residency is just stacked w people w big research CVs, then the program probably has a big research component. Lot of the programs in Midwest and southeast don’t. They also have the best autonomy because of the lower density of academic programs and more favorable medicolegal environments
I will add Rush, Kentucky, and UNC. Good luck on the match folks.
If you don't have publications in JNS or Neurosurgery, then you are completely fucked.
