No. They are maybe equivalent to case reports. Definitely not the same as even a full manuscript as the key element of the work is the surgery that was done, which is the work product of your attending rather than you

Pubs are pubs, when evaluating research productivity in students it’s not so much about the science but the fact that a project has been taken through to completion.

The above poster is absolutely right. U generally don’t need a massive number of them, and they don’t need to be world-changing papers. As long as you’ve shown u can get a couple done, that’s usually adequate for reviewers purposes
