I didn't have a home program either, i got 4 letters from my 3 aways (3 chair and 1 well known PD). I don't think you need a letter from your home anything in your situation, but that's just my opinion. Make sure to crush your aways though. Worked out for me, matched at my #1 choice.
i'd agree with above poster that letters are very important. I read all of your applications this year and at least for me there is nothing stronger than a very strong away letter. Almost everybody's home program write's nice things.
