Two week rotations?
#1
I’ve noticed that some programs give the option of rotating for two weeks rather than the customary four.

Is there anyone that can speak from experience on the pros and cons of a two week rotation? Is it something that is generally frowned upon by most programs?

I think doing a 2 week rotation because your otherwise could not schedule a 4 week rotation for some reason out of your control is still seen positively. It gives you a chance to get to know some of the residents and attendings and makes you a bit less of an unknown quantity vs not rotating st all.

That being said a 4 week rotation is considered standard and barring extraordinary circumstances is the one that will show the most commitment to the program.
