AANS Top Gun Competition
#1
Dear Residents, Fellows and Medical Students:

Are you the next Neurosurgical Top Gun?

At the 2018 American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) Annual Scientific Meeting, April 28-May 2, in New Orleans, the Young Neurosurgeons Committee (YNC) will be crowning its 13th Annual Neurosurgical Top Gun. The competition includes separate skill challenges, each with its own cash prize, as well as a $1,000 prize for the top overall performer and $1,500 for the top team performance. New stations will be featured during this year’s competition as well as additional prizes, such as surgical loupes and neurosurgical texts.

Residents, Fellows and Medical Students can compete to receive this coveted title as an individual or with a team this April in New Orleans. Be sure to register by April 23rd to ensure a spot in the competition.

Last year, University of Miami beat out all other neurosurgical residencies to stake their claim as the Neurosurgical Top Gun of 2017. On Monday, April 30, at Booth 2039, the challenge for the Neurosurgical Top Gun of 2018 will begin.

Scores are tabulated based upon aggregate individual scores collected during the first two days of competition. The winning team will be announced at the end of the day, Tuesday, May 1.

The winning program will take home not only bragging rights for the entire year, but a $1,500 check for their training program and recognition at the 2018 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting, in the 2018 AANS Annual Report and on AANS social media.

If you will be attending the 2018 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting with at least one other member of your training program, you qualify for the team challenge. Advance registration is still available for those that wish to confirm their participation. If you are interested, contact the Neurosurgical Top Gun Committee at agarwaln@upmc.edu by April 23.

The first 50 participants will receive a free Neurosurgical Top Gun t-shirt. Hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Nitin Agarwal, MD

Brühe, it's another line on his cv you won't have. No wonder you matched in bfa and he's at the #1 program in the world.
