Why has Sinai taken so many grads from Einstein? (4 in a total of 14). I'm surprised Mocco took that many. Is this a common occurrence?

Sinai is an elite training program, its common among that type of residencies. I'm interested to see which other schools have done something similar

I wouldn't view it as "Mocco took that many". Keep in mind that very few programs can just choose who they take, it is a match for the program after all. Einstein is a solid mid-tier med school with a lot of people originally from the NY area who want to stay in the northeast. Their home program is ok but not quite the level of sinai. So a lot of people from einstein probably rotated at sinai, happened to be solid applicants and therefore matched there. In addition, moving from the bronx to manhattan is a winning move. NYU, Cornell and Columbia applicants prefer to stay at their home institution over sinai, and this is why you don't see a lot of them on the resident roster. I'm sure the chair and PD at sinai ranked some (maybe a lot ?) people higher than the Einstein applicants but because of geographic preference and/or home institution preference on the part of the applicants, they more highly-ranked applicants didn't match there.
