  Contingency plans

I feel weird posting this after reading the thread about everyone’s top choices.   What happens if it doesn’t happen in March.  Is there any way still into Neurosurgery?  Would you have to prelim and apply all over again?

  Couple's Matching
Posted by: Guest - 02-13-2018, 12:18 AM - Forum: General interest - Replies (3)

Has anyone had experience trying to couple's match in neurosurgery? I know it's early match so your applications aren't linked. But would you in theory find out where you matched early, then your partner would try to match there as well? A little confused on the process/ how to best go about it. Would appreciate any insight, thanks!

Letters of rec for Sub-I apps
Posted by: Guest - 02-11-2018, 01:31 PM - Forum: Sub-internships - Replies (3)

How is important is the LOR that some Sub-Is require? Does it have to be from a neurosurgeon?

No home department. I have built a good relationship with a few local neurosurgeons in an unofficial capacity but have an upcoming rotation scheduled where I can hopefully make a strong impression. I feel like asking for a letter now for sub-I apps is a waste because if I need a letter later on for ERAS they will likely submit the same thing instead of making changes after my scheduled rotation.

I have heard of people submitting letters from other specialties, is this acceptable?
