No I thought they meant like unsolicited "we want you" sort of contact. Have generally gotten responses to thank yous

PD at Mayo (JVG) said to email no one if you’re not that interested. PD and chair if you liked them, and everyone who interviewed you if you really Really liked them. Typically I didn’t email ppl I didn’t connect with and most places just PD and chair, but a few got bombarded with my sappy emails
